Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency values its volunteers who provide time and talent to the benefit of its departments and programs. CSCAA strives to provide support, supervision, and recognition to its volunteers for their personal investment in the Agency and its mission. We are always seeking new volunteers to help with a range of activites. Current opportunities include helping out at free clothing and the food pantries in Cayuga and Seneca Counties. Seneca Programs is also seeking volunteers to greet customers, accept and sort donations, and perform light office and clerical duties.

Volunteer Generation Fund Initiative
CSCAA received multi-year funding through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, Volunteer Generation Grant Program, to launch a Food Security Initiative focused on building volunteer capacity within the Agency and 8 partner organizations to undertake hunger relief efforts in Cayuga, Seneca and northern Tompkins Counties. Partner organizations include:

  • Cayuga County Office for the Aging: Meals on Wheels
  • Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County: Nutrition Education
  • Harmony Food Pantry (Waterloo, NY)
  • King Ferry Food Pantry
  • Ovid Ecumenical Food Pantry
  • Seneca Falls Backpack Program
  • St. Alphonsus Food Pantry
  • Saints Peter & John Soup Kitchen

The agency has an immediate need for volunteers to support Hunger Relief efforts through the Volunteer Generation Fund Initiative. Many opportunities are available to accommodate all skill levels and interests. Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals and food baskets to homebound residents; work in our food pantries stocking shelves, packing food baskets, processing intake forms, etc.; organize food drives and other fundraising efforts; help with the Head Start garden and more.
