Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency has scheduled many events and activities throughout the month of April to emphasize the critical importance of preventing child abuse and neglect and keeping children safe in our community. Learn more about how you can help make a difference below! Check out our Facebook page where we will post a Fact a Day throughout the month of April about these issues.

Bottoms Up
Did you know that a baby uses thousands of diapers within the first 30 months of life - an estimated expense of $100 per month or $3,000 per child? There are no subsidies or government programs that aid with the purchase of diapers. You can help low-income families in our community by supporting our Bottoms Up Diaper Drive throughout April. We are collecting diapers, wipes, cream and other baby items to support local families in need throughout the month of April. Organize a Diaper Drive or drop diapers off at our headquarters located at 89 York Street in Auburn or Seneca Programs site located at 23 Center Street in Waterloo. Or, stretch your dollars further and make on online donation. As a non-profit Agency, we are able to purchase diapers in bulk tax free!

For just $20, you can help diaper a baby for a week!

Pinwheel Garden Planting April 2, 2018 - Pinwheels are recognized as the national symbol for child abuse prevention, serving as a tangible reminder of the worry-free childhoods we desire for all children. On April 2, our Agency will plant pinwheel gardens throughout our service area, including on the front lawn of Memorial City Hall in Auburn, at our Seneca Programs site in Waterloo, and at satellite Early Childhood Program sites in Moravia and Southern Cayuga. Parents will be invited to help plant this symbolic garden with their children. Learn more online at www.preventchildabuseny.org.
Go Blue April 6, 2018 - Join this National movement and wear blue, the official color of prevention, to show your support for children. Take a selfie or group photo, post on Facebook and tag our Agency! Encourage your employer to create a Go Blue event and collect donations to support CSCAA’s programs designed to strengthen families and prevent child abuse.
Blue Sunday April 29, 2018 - Join over 7 million people who will pray on BLUE SUNDAY for victims of abuse and those who rescue them. Contact our Agency for assistance in asking your church to join this life-changing effort!
