Head Start Director

 The Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Director.  The Head Start Director is responsible for assuring all Head Start program mandates and standards for excellence are met on a daily basis. This position develops the structure, systems and procedures to facilitate this. In addition to operating responsibility for fiscal, legal, and programmatic aspects of the program, it bears the responsibility of assuring that the program is strategically positioned for the future. The HS Director supervises the Head Start management team, providing leadership, and ensuring compliance in meeting all program standards and regulations for Head Start.  Key responsibilities include:  Implement programs that will maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and Agency Policies; preparation of the annual HHS refunding and supplemental applications and assists with grant writing and budget preparation; oversees and monitors agreements for the purchasing of goods and services and assures that bids are solicited in accordance with state and federal regulations; complete RFPs and negotiate with the local school districts for NYS Universal Pre-Kindergarten funds.

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field, or a NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential AND one-year full-time teaching experience in a child day care center or early childhood program required.  An understanding of Head Start philosophy and the ability to implement its principle of shared authority and decision-making. Three to five years of leadership and supervisory experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Information Technology Assistant

 Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Assistant. The IT Assistant installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users.

 Minimum Qualifications – Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent certification, and one year hands-on experience.  Must possess knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008.

Employment Pathways Coordinator

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking an Employment Pathways Coordinator.   The Employment Pathways Coordinator will coordinate support services, education and training in order to prepare low-income individuals to obtain and sustain full-time employment within regional demand occupations. 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred with two years of experience in program coordination/administration.  Experience with grant administration including budget management preferred.  Must have a clear understanding of the education and employment systems in Cayuga County.

Food Security Director

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Food Security Director.   The Director will oversee implementation of the CSCAA Anti-Hunger Collaborative Initiative. Manage volunteer resources to assist in the delivery of strategies including directly managing volunteers, and/or providing guidance, support, resources and tools to staff and partners who supervise volunteers. Liaison with CSCAA departments and partner organizations to understand how each works to alleviate hunger.  Organize, coordinate and manage volunteer recruitment efforts to support CSCAA and partner agency initiatives.  Recruit, train and manage volunteers to support CSCAA anti-hunger initiatives including food pantry operation, Head Start Gardens, SNAP outreach and resource development. Develop and coordinate mobile delivery of food to isolated rural residents utilizing volunteer network, including scheduling and organizing pickups on a weekly basis in conjunction with partner agencies, volunteer recruitment, management and training to support this initiative. 

Bachelor's degree in human service, social sciences, communication or related field required with prior experience as volunteer coordinator for public or non-profit employer. Experience creating and implementing volunteer programs and training.  Knowledge of social service delivery systems and knowledge of Cayuga and Seneca County resources.  Ability to travel to satellite sites throughout Cayuga and Seneca County.  Must have reliable transportation and a clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
