Health Care Navigator

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Health Care Navigator for the NYS Health Benefit Exchange in Cayuga County. The Health Care Navigator provides outreach, enrollment, and retention services to families and individuals eligible for government sponsored insurance programs.   The HCN is responsible to coordinate outreach and enrollment efforts by working collaboratively with other staff, member clinics and community based organizations. 

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED/HSE with 2 years of Health Care Navigator experience, or an Associates’ degree in related healthcare field with experience in benefits administration and experience in the health care and/or insurance industry preferred.  Knowledge of eligibility requirements and application process of all government sponsored health insurance programs. Must have reliable transportation for traveling to work sites within county.  Must have a clean and valid NYS Driver’s License.

Behavioral Support Specialist

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Support Specialist in our Early Childhood Program. The Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for working with children (ages 2-5) enrolled in the Head Start program who exhibit challenging behaviors and would benefit from additional 1:1 support. The BSS will work with the Education Coordinator, Mental Health Counselor and classroom staff to develop and implement developmentally appropriate behavior support plans which promote healthy social-emotional development.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in special education, behavioral science, or mental health field OR Associates degree in early childhood development with experience working with children ages 2-5 with behavior challenges in a group setting.  Ability to take a strength-based approach to children’s needs. Knowledge and understanding of the person-centered philosophy.

Emergency Services Coordinator

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Services Coordinator in our Family Development program.  The Coordinator provides direct supervision to the Emergency Services staff including the Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (NOEP), The NYSSHP Transitional Housing Program for youth, Health Benefits Exchange, HUD Permanent Housing Programs, and CSBG Case Management. The Coordinator ensures all regulations are followed in the provision of services and responsible for reporting to funding Agencies.

A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field with 2 years of supervisory experience preferred, or Associates degree in the above fields with 4 years of supervisory experience. Family Development Credential preferred.  1-3 years prior case management experience is preferred.  Experience in grant writing and budget monitoring.

Early Childhood Substitutes

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking Substitutes in our Early Childhood Program. Substitutes assist in providing high quality and comprehensive child development instruction to children and parents, and aids in classroom leadership on an as-needed basis.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED.  Experience preferred working with pre-schoolers and/or children with disabilities.

Classroom Aide

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Classroom Aide. The Classroom Aide assists in providing high quality and comprehensive early child development service inclusive of children with special needs.

Child Development Associates credential (CDA) is preferred; or a High School Diploma/GED and enrolled in a program leading to a Child Development Associates credential to be completed within two years; or enrolled in a program leading to an Associate’s Degree or Baccalaureate Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Experience preferred working with pre-schoolers and/or children with disabilities.
